Zinc phosphates, also known as zinc orthophosphates, are used in a variety of industries such as agriculture, dentistry, and metalworking. They are used as a rust inhibitor and for surface treatment on metals. In agriculture, zinc phosphates are used as a fertilizer and as an agricultural fungicide. In dentistry, zinc phosphates are used for dental materials such as dental crowns and bridges.
When rubber is exposed to zinc phosphates, it can cause the rubber to become brittle and crack. The rubber may also become discolored, and the surface of the rubber may become pitted or corroded. Additionally, zinc phosphates can cause the rubber to become less flexible and more prone to tearing or cracking under stress.
