Xylamon, also known as Xenon, is a wood preservative used in a variety of industries to protect wood from rot and decay. It is a broad-spectrum fungicide and insecticide, making it an ideal choice for treating wood and other materials. Common uses include treating lumber, plywood, fence posts, log homes, decks, and outdoor furniture.
When rubber is exposed to Xylamon, it can cause a number of types of failures such as softening, cracking, and discoloration. Additionally, the rubber may become brittle and lose its flexibility over time. In order to avoid these issues, it is important to use rubber compounds that are compatible with Xylamon, and to test the rubber for compatibility prior to use.
