WHITE OIL Resistant O-Rings and Seals
White oil is also known as paraffin oil, liquid paraffin, mineral oil, and liquid petrolatum. It is commonly used in various industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. It is also used as a lubricant and a solvent.
Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to white oil are swelling, shrinkage, cracking, and chemical degradation. Swelling is caused by the oil being absorbed by the rubber, causing it to increase in size and become softer. Shrinkage occurs when the oil evaporates from the rubber, causing it to shrink and become brittle. Cracking can occur if the oil is exposed to extreme temperatures, causing the rubber to become brittle and crack. Chemical degradation occurs when the oil reacts with the rubber, causing it to break down and become brittle.
