UCON Lubricant LB0625 is also known as Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP), Di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), or Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (BEHP). It is a plasticizer used in a variety of industrial and consumer applications, such as vinyl flooring, plastic wraps, and rubber seals.
Rubber materials can be damaged when exposed to UCON Lubricant LB0625 due to its high solvency and the ability to swell some rubber materials. Common rubber materials, such as EPDM and Nitrile, can swell and become brittle when exposed to UCON Lubricant LB0625, leading to failure. Additionally, some rubber materials may become softened, leading to a decrease in strength and durability. Furthermore, UCON Lubricant LB0625 can cause rubber to crack, split, or discolor, leading to further damage.
