UCON Lubricant LB0300X is also known as 1-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, or NMP. It is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid used as a solvent in a variety of industrial and consumer applications, such as paint strippers, adhesives and sealants, printing inks, and electronics cleaning.
Rubber materials are generally not compatible with UCON Lubricant LB0300X due to its high solvency and the ability to swell some rubber materials. Common rubber materials, such as EPDM and Nitrile, can swell and become brittle when exposed to UCON Lubricant LB0300X, leading to failure. Additionally, some rubber materials may become softened, leading to a decrease in strength and durability.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
