UCON Lubricant 500HB055 is also known as 2-propylheptanol and 2-methyl-5-ethylhexanol. It is a solvent-based lubricant commonly used in the automotive, aerospace, and industrial industries. It is also used as a fuel additive, a rust preventative, a mold release agent, and an emulsifier.
When rubber is exposed to UCON Lubricant 500HB055, it can cause swelling, softening, and cracking of the rubber material. It can also reduce the tensile strength and tear strength of the rubber, leading to premature failure. In some cases, UCON Lubricant 500HB055 can leach out of the rubber and cause contamination of surrounding materials.
