UCON Hydrolube J04 is a synthetic lubricant and corrosion inhibitor used in industrial and automotive applications. It is a combination of mineral oils and synthetic esters, and is often used as a replacement for petroleum-based products.
Rubber components that are exposed to UCON Hydrolube J04 may experience swelling, softening, or cracking. Additionally, UCON Hydrolube J04 may cause discoloration of certain types of rubber, and long-term exposure may lead to degraded seals and eventual failure. Synthetic rubbers are particularly vulnerable to attack from this lubricant, and should be tested for compatibility before use. Additionally, seals should be inspected regularly to ensure that they are not exhibiting signs of degradation.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
