Turbo Oil #35, also known as Turbine Oil, is a mineral oil-based lubricant used primarily in turbine and hydraulic systems. It is widely used in industrial applications such as power generation, aircraft, and maritime industries.
When rubber is exposed to Turbo Oil #35, it can cause swelling, softening, and degradation of the rubber material. The oil can permeate the rubber and break down the polymer chains leading to a decrease in mechanical properties of the rubber. Additionally, the oil can cause the rubber to become brittle and crack when exposed to extreme temperatures. In some cases, the rubber may also become discolored due to the oil.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
