TEXACO 3450 Gear Oil is also known as Tetraboric Acid Ester, and is a synthetic lubricant that is frequently used in gearboxes, transmissions, and other industrial equipment. It is often used in manufacturing, auto repair, and other industries that require high levels of lubrication.
When rubber is exposed to Texaco 3450 Gear Oil, it can cause swelling, brittleness, cracking, and discoloration. Rubber can also become less resistant to heat, chemicals, and other environmental conditions, making the rubber less durable. Additionally, the gear oil can cause the rubber to become more brittle over time, leading to premature failure.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
