STAUFFER 7700 is a flame-retardant plasticiser used in a variety of applications. It is commonly used as a stabilizer in PVC products, as a softening agent in rubber, and as an additive in paints and coatings.
When rubber is exposed to STAUFFER 7700, it may experience discolouration, cracking, and a decrease in tensile strength. Discolouration occurs due to the plasticiser’s reaction with the rubber’s molecular structure. Cracking occurs due to the plasticiser’s ability to weaken the rubber’s physical properties. Lastly, a decrease in tensile strength may be caused by the plasticiser’s ability to break down the bonds that hold the rubber together.
