SR06 FUEL is also known as ethyl mercaptan and is commonly used as an odorant and a warning agent in fuels and lubricants. It is also used as a plasticizer in rubber manufacturing to give the rubber more flexibility and strength.
Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to SR06 FUEL include degradation of the rubber material, discoloration, and a decrease in the elasticity of the rubber. Additionally, long-term exposure to SR06 FUEL can lead to a decrease in the resilience of the rubber material and an increase in the vulnerability of the rubber to other chemicals.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
