SOLVASOL 74 Resistant O-Rings and Seals
SOLVASOL 74 (also known as tris(dichloromethyl)silane) is used in the production of silicones and sol-gel materials. It is also used in the production of polyurethane, epoxy resins and rubber adhesives. When exposed to rubber, this chemical can cause the rubber to become brittle and discolored, swell, and crack. In addition, the chemical can cause the rubber to oxidize, resulting in a decrease in its strength and elasticity. Furthermore, the chemical can cause the rubber to become hard and inflexible, making it unsuitable for its intended applications.
