Sodium Bicarbonate, also known as baking soda, is a naturally occurring compound commonly used as a food additive, cleaning agent, and pH adjuster. When rubber is exposed to Sodium Bicarbonate, it can cause the rubber to become brittle, leading to cracking and breaking. In addition, the rubber may become discolored and there may be a decrease in the elasticity of the rubber.
