Skydrol LD04 is also known as soap solutions and is commonly used in the aerospace industry, specifically in hydraulic systems, as an anti-wear additive and corrosion inhibitor. It is also used in some automotive and industrial applications.
When rubber is exposed to Skydrol LD04, common types of failure include swelling, cracking, and loss of strength due to the chemical's ability to break down the rubber's protective layers. In addition, Skydrol LD04 can also cause softening and embrittlement due to its ability to leach out plasticizers. This can lead to reduced flexibility and tear strength of the rubber. In extreme cases, it can even lead to complete dissolution of the rubber.
