Silver Bromide is also known as Bromargyrite, Bromyrite, and Bromyrite. This chemical is used in photography, silver plating, and as a pesticide.
When rubber is exposed to Silver Bromide, it can cause the rubber to become brittle, swell, and crack. In extreme cases, the rubber can become degraded and turn into a powder. Silver Bromide can also cause discoloration of the rubber and a decrease in mechanical properties. In some cases, the rubber can become entirely unusable.
