SHELL TELLUS 32, also known as Petro-Base 32, is a petroleum-based hydraulic oil used in various applications such as industrial machinery, construction equipment, and automotive systems. Common uses for this oil include lubrication, cooling, and cleaning of machinery.
When rubber is exposed to Petro-Base 32, it can cause swelling, softening, and cracking of the rubber. This can lead to a reduction in the seal's performance and life. Additionally, Petro-Base 32 can cause discolouration and embrittlement of the rubber due to thermal oxidation. In extreme cases, exposure to Petro-Base 32 can also cause complete failure of the rubber seal.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
