SF 96 GE SILICONE FLUID is a silicone oil commonly used as a lubricant and heat transfer agent. It is most commonly found in the automotive, electronics, and food industries. It is also known as GE 704, GE 705, Silicone Lubricant, and Synfluid.
Common types of failure when rubber is exposed to SF 96 GE SILICONE FLUID include swelling, cracking, and the loss of elasticity. These issues are typically caused by the oil's ability to penetrate and soften the rubber, which can lead to the rubber material not being able to retain its shape or form. In addition, the oil can also cause the rubber to become brittle and easily break, leading to further issues.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
