Pyrrole is an aromatic hydrocarbon commonly used in the production of synthetic dyes and pigments, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural chemicals. It is also used as a fuel and fuel additive in some cases.
When rubber is exposed to pyrrole, it can cause swelling and cracking, leading to a decrease in its overall strength and flexibility. Additionally, the hydrocarbon can corrode the rubber, reducing its resistance to water and chemicals. In some cases, pyrrole can also cause discoloration of the rubber, leading to an unsightly appearance.
