Pyrolube, also known as polyalkylene glycol, is a synthetic lubricating oil used in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, plumbing, and aeronautics. It is a non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-corrosive oil that is resistant to oxidation and thermal degradation.
When rubber is exposed to Pyrolube, it can cause swelling, softening, and a decrease in the rubber's tensile strength. Additionally, the oil can leach out plasticizers, leading to embrittlement and a decrease in the rubber's flexibility.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
