PYRANOL TRANSFORMER OIL is also known as mineral oil, white oil, and technical paraffin. It is a colorless, odorless, and non-toxic oil that is used mainly as an insulating and cooling medium in electrical transformers and other electrical equipment. Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to PYRANOL TRANSFORMER OIL include increased brittleness, cracking, swelling, and accelerated aging. The oil can cause rubber to become hard, brittle and cracked, which can lead to leaking seals. High temperatures can also cause the rubber to become more susceptible to failure. In addition, the oil can cause rubber to swell which can lead to a decrease in its flexibility and strength.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
