Piperidine is also commonly known as hexahydropyridine and cyclohexane-1,5-diamine. It is a widely used chemical compound in various industries such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food processing. It is also used as a solvent in metal plating solutions, chromium plating solutions, and electroless plating solutions.
When rubber is exposed to piperidine, it can suffer from a number of different types of failures. These can include swelling, hardening, cracking, discoloration, and loss of elasticity. In extreme cases, exposure to piperidine can cause rubber to degrade and eventually fail. The severity of the failure often depends on the concentration of the piperidine, the type of rubber, and the length of time the rubber is exposed to the piperidine.
