Phenylethyl Ether is also known as benzyl ether and phenethyl ether. It is a colorless, volatile liquid with a sweet, ether-like odor. It is used in various industries such as the production of dyes, drugs, and perfumes.
When rubber is exposed to phenylethyl ether, the rubber can become brittle and may crack or break. The rubber can also swell and become soft due to the ether’s solvating properties. The rubber can also discolor or become sticky due to exposure to phenylethyl ether.
