Petrol/benzene/ethanol, 50/30/20% is a mixture of hydrocarbons commonly used as a solvent and fuel. It is widely used in a variety of manufacturing industries, including automotive, paint and coatings, pharmaceuticals and electronics.
When rubber is exposed to this mixture, the hydrocarbons can cause the rubber to swell, resulting in a loss of thickness and stiffness. The hydrocarbons can also cause the rubber to become brittle, leading to cracking or tearing. In addition, the rubber can become discolored and the surface can become sticky.
