Oxygen is a chemical element known by a few other names such as dioxygen and O2. Common uses for oxygen include welding, water treatment, and as a medical gas.
When rubber is exposed to oxygen, it can cause oxidation and degradations such as swelling, cracking, and hardening. These effects can be accelerated further by heat. Other effects of oxygen exposure include embrittlement, discoloration, and loss of tensile strength. To avoid these issues, rubber compounds should be tested in the expected environment before they are used.
Markez ® high performance perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (FFKM) offer unmatched value for demanding sealing applications. Produced from nearly identical ingredients as higher priced brands, Markez ® compounds are used for high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings and chemical resistant o-rings that deliver similar performance to major FFKM brands, with temperature resistance up to 625oF, at a significantly lower cost. Our proprietary processing allow us to supply seals under an inch in size more efficiently. Introduced exclusively to existing customers over 15 years ago, we now have the experience and capacity to offer Markez ® high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings to the world.
