OS45 Type 111 is a silicate ester-based lubricating oil commonly used in applications such as gearboxes and hydraulic systems. It is also used in metalworking and other industrial processes.
When rubber is exposed to OS45 Type 111, it can cause the rubber to degrade and become brittle. This can lead to a decrease in the overall seal integrity and a shorter service life. Additionally, OS45 Type 111 may act as a plasticizer, resulting in a decrease in mechanical strength of the rubber, making it more prone to cracking and tearing.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
