OS 70 is a mineral oil-based synthetic lubricating oil that is commonly used in engines, gears, bearings, and other machinery. It is also used in various industrial processes, including metalworking and plastics manufacturing.
When rubber is exposed to OS 70, it can cause the rubber to swell, harden, and become brittle. This can result in a decrease in the overall seal integrity, leading to leaks and reduced service life. Additionally, OS 70 may act as a plasticizer, resulting in a decrease in mechanical strength of the rubber, making it more prone to cracking and tearing.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
