Oleum Spirits is also known as sulfuric acid, which is a colorless, oily liquid. It is a strong acid and is often used in industrial processes such as metal pickling and electrolyte production. It is also used in the manufacture of fertilizers, paints and dyes, and in the production of pharmaceuticals.
When rubber is exposed to Oleum Spirits, it can suffer from severe degradation, including cracking, swelling and discoloration. The acidity of the Oleum Spirits can cause the rubber to become brittle, resulting in decreased elasticity and strength. Additionally, prolonged exposure to the acid can cause irreversible damage to the rubber.
