MOBILUX is a mineral oil based lubricant that is commonly used in marine, automotive, industrial and agricultural industries. It is a multi-grade lubricant that combines the qualities of an SAE 20 weight oil and a SAE 30 weight oil. Common applications include hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions and gear boxes.
When rubber is exposed to MOBILUX, it can cause the rubber to swell, leading to a decrease in hardness and an increase in flexibility. This can cause rubber seals to become brittle and break over time, leading to leaks. Additionally, the lubricant can cause the rubber to become sticky and attract dust, dirt and other contaminants. This can lead to seal failure in extreme cases.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
