MOBIL SHC 500 SERIES is a family of synthetic ester-based lubricants that are specifically designed to provide long-term protection and performance in extreme temperature and pressure conditions. Common uses for this chemical are in automotive, industrial and marine equipment, as well as in general industrial and manufacturing applications.
When rubber is exposed to MOBIL SHC 500 SERIES, the most common failure is cracking due to embrittlement. This type of failure occurs when the lubricant interacts with the rubber, leading to a decrease in the rubber's elasticity and flexibility. Additionally, swelling of the rubber may occur, leading to a distortion of the seal and a decrease in overall performance.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
