MLO08515, also known as Di(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP), is a plasticizer used to make plastic and rubber materials more flexible and durable. DEHP is commonly found in products such as medical devices, food packaging, and building materials.
When rubber materials are exposed to DEHP, the rubber can become brittle or harden due to the plasticizer’s low temperature fluidity. In addition, the chemical can cause discoloration of the rubber and can penetrate the rubber material, leading to swelling and cracking of the material. The chemical can also cause the rubber to degrade, resulting in a complete breakdown of the material.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
