MLO07557, also known as Dibutyl Sebacate, is a colorless liquid used in industrial applications for plasticizers and lubricants. It is also used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics as an emollient and solvent.
When rubber materials are exposed to MLO07557, the rubber can become brittle and crack due to the low temperature fluidity of the chemical. In addition, the rubber can become permanently discolored and the chemical can penetrate the rubber material causing the rubber to swell and resulting in cracks and other failures. The chemical can also cause the rubber to degrade, leading to a complete breakdown of the material.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
