MIL0L07870 is commonly known as ethylene glycol and is used in many industries as a coolant and antifreeze. It is an organic compound with a sweet taste and odor. Common uses for it include automotive coolant, hydraulic fluid, heat transfer fluid, and an ingredient in brake fluid.
When rubber is exposed to ethylene glycol, it can cause swelling and softening of the rubber material, leading to a loss of strength and elasticity. This can lead to seal failure and ultimately cause leaks in the system. In addition, when exposed to long-term exposure, ethylene glycol can cause embrittlement and cracking of the rubber.
