MIL-L-06085 is a synthetic rubber, also known as Neoprene rubber, which is used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and marine. It is often used to create seals and gaskets, and it is resistant to many chemicals, oils, and temperatures.
When exposed to MIL-L-06085, rubber can experience chemical deterioration which manifests in the form of cracking, hardening, and embrittlement of the rubber. These issues can be further exacerbated by exposure to petroleum-based chemicals, ozone, and UV light. Additionally, Neoprene rubber has a low resistance to acid, bases, and ketones, which can also cause deterioration of the rubber.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
