MIL0L023699 is also known as ethyl acetate and is a common solvent used in the production of paints, inks, and adhesives. It is also used for cleaning and degreasing metal surfaces and in the production of lacquers and varnishes.
Rubber exposed to ethyl acetate can experience swelling, reduced mechanical strength, poor heat resistance, and loss of elasticity. In extreme cases, the rubber can become brittle or crack. Additionally, accelerated aging of the rubber can result in decreased tensile strength, reduced elongation at break, and increased hardness. These effects can be exacerbated by the presence of ozone, sunlight, and heat.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
