MILK OF LIME is also known as calcium hydroxide and is commonly used in water treatment, chemical manufacturing, and paper production. It is also used as a food additive and in the manufacture of cement and plaster. Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to MILK OF LIME include degradation of the rubber material, swelling, and hardening. These effects can be exacerbated by excessive exposure to moisture or heat, leading to further deterioration of the rubber material.
