MIL0H05606 is a fluorosilicone elastomer, also known as FVMQ. It is a durable rubber material that is highly resistant to chemicals, ozone, and weathering and is used in a wide range of industries, including aerospace, food and beverage, and medical processing. It is most commonly used in applications where a wide temperature range is required, from -65°F to +275°F.
When exposed to certain chemicals, rubber materials can experience a variety of failures and damage. Depending on the type of chemical and the concentration, rubber materials can become brittle, swell, or crack. The most common types of damage due to chemical exposure on MIL0H05606 are cracking, shrinking, or changing color. These failures can occur as a result of long-term exposure or as a result of a single instance of contact with a particularly caustic chemical.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
