MIL-G-07421 is a type of synthetic plasticized rubber material which is commonly used in aircraft sealing applications. It is also known as MIL-SPEC plasticized rubber or MIL-SPEC rubber. This type of rubber is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including fuels and lubricants, and is often used in the aerospace industry for sealing components and providing vibration dampening.
When rubber is exposed to MIL-G-07421, it is prone to failure due to the material's low resistance to stress cracking, aging, and fatigue. The rubber can degrade over time, leading to cracks and other structural issues. In addition, the rubber can become brittle, leading to a decrease in its ability to keep a seal. In order to ensure proper sealing, it is important to ensure that the rubber is compatible with MIL-G-07421 and that it is regularly inspected for signs of wear and tear.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
