MIL-0F082522 is more commonly known as Silicone Oil. This chemical is widely used in a variety of industries, including medical devices, automotive, aerospace, electrical/electronic components, and consumer products. It is also used in beauty products and as a lubricant for high-temperature applications.
When rubber is exposed to Silicone Oil, the rubber can swell and become soft, leading to deformation and eventual failure of the rubber seal. The oil can also cause the rubber to become brittle and crack, leading to permanent damage to the rubber seal. Additionally, the oil can cause the rubber to degrade, resulting in a loss of elasticity and strength.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
