METHYLENE CHLORIDE Resistant O-Rings and Seals

Methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane, is a colorless volatile liquid with a sweet, chloroform-like odor. It is commonly used as a solvent in paints, varnishes, adhesives, and in the production of pharmaceuticals.

When rubber is exposed to methylene chloride, it can become brittle and prone to cracking due to the chemical's solvent properties. In addition, the rubber may become stiff and lose its elasticity, making it difficult to use. The chemical can also cause the rubber to become discolored and may cause it to swell, leading to a decrease in its strength. Additionally, the rubber may become sticky and tacky and may also become softened and weakened, leading to premature failure of the rubber component.

FFKM Perfluoroelastomer

Markez ® high performance perfluoroelastomer O-Rings (FFKM) offer unmatched value for demanding sealing applications. Produced from nearly identical ingredients as higher priced brands, Markez ® compounds are used for high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings and chemical resistant o-rings that deliver similar performance to major FFKM brands, with temperature resistance up to 625oF, at a significantly lower cost. Our proprietary processing allow us to supply seals under an inch in size more efficiently. Introduced exclusively to existing customers over 15 years ago, we now have the experience and capacity to offer Markez ® high temperature o-rings and high pressure o-rings to the world.
