Marsh gas, also known as methane, is an odorless and colorless gas which is the main component of natural gas. It is used as a fuel source in many industries, such as electricity generation, heating, and cooking. Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to marsh gas include cracking, discoloration, and brittleness. This is because the marsh gas is highly flammable and can cause the rubber to become brittle, discolored, and cracked when exposed to high temperatures.
