LEHIGH X1170 is an organic peroxide commonly known as a peroxide accelerator. It is used in the rubber industry to speed up the curing process of rubber compounds, particularly those that contain sulfur. It is also used in other industries, such as coatings, adhesives, and plastics.
When rubber is exposed to LEHIGH X1170, common types of failures can include cracking and embrittlement. This is due to the high reactivity of the organic peroxide, which can cause the rubber to degrade and crack over time. Additionally, when exposed to high temperatures, the peroxide can cause the rubber to become brittle, resulting in a brittle failure.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
