JP05 is commonly known as polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE. It is a synthetic fluoropolymer with a wide variety of industrial uses, including coatings, lubricants, and sealants.
When rubber is exposed to JP05, there are a few common types of failures that can occur. These include cracking, swelling, and hardening of the rubber material. In some cases, the rubber can become brittle and break down over time, leading to a loss of functionality of the rubber seal.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
