INDUSTRON FF80 is a synthetic rubber polymer also known as ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPT). It is commonly used for automotive, marine, and aerospace applications for sealing, gasketing, and as a vibration dampener. When exposed to certain chemicals, INDUSTRON FF80 can become brittle and lose its elasticity. Chemical exposure such as ozone, oxidation, and hydrolysis can cause the rubber to become hard and brittle, leading to cracks, leaks, and eventual failure of the rubber seal or component.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
