Hydyne, also known as 1,1-diaminoethane, is an organic compound widely used as a building block in the production of other chemicals, such as pharmaceuticals, plastics, and adhesives. It is also used in the production of nylon and other synthetic fibers.
When rubber is exposed to Hydyne, the rubber may be subject to oxidative degradation, caused by the oxidation of the rubber's double bonds by the Hydyne. This can lead to reduced tensile strength, increased brittleness, and a decrease in elasticity and flexibility. The rubber may also experience swelling due to the absorption of the Hydyne, leading to further degradation and loss of properties.
EPDM o-rings, or ethylene propylene o-rings, are a family of synthetic elastomers with lower cost steam and chemical resistance, particularly for applications involving solvents, acids and other mild chemicals. Marco Rubber has the world’s largest inventory network of EPDM o-rings and made on demand custom manufacturing often without tooling fees, so the EPDM o-rings you need are always available. Whether it’s for water systems, braking systems, medical, pharmaceutical, food or dairy use, you can count on Marco Rubber to deliver your o-rings fast and efficiently.
