HYDROBROMIC ACID, 40% Resistant O-Rings and Seals
Hydrobromic acid, also known as hydrogen bromide, is a highly corrosive and toxic acid used in various industrial and manufacturing processes. It is used in the production of inorganic bromides, pharmaceuticals and dyes, as well as for etching metals and in plating.
When rubber is exposed to hydrobromic acid, it can cause severe degradation, such as swelling, cracking, and loss of tensile strength. In addition, hydrobromic acid can cause discoloration and embrittlement of rubber, making it more prone to fracturing. When exposed to hydrobromic acid for long periods of time, rubber can become brittle and eventually fail.
