HYDRAZINE Resistant O-Rings and Seals
Hydrazine is a chemical compound with a wide variety of uses. It is also known as Diaminohydrazine, Diamine, Hydrazine hydrate, and Nitrogen hydride. It is commonly used as a rocket fuel, a raw material for fertilizer, a pharmaceutical intermediate, and a corrosion inhibitor.
When exposed to hydrazine, rubber materials can suffer from both softening and hardening, depending on the type of rubber. Common types of rubber failure include swelling, discoloration, cracking, deformation, and loss of elasticity. Additionally, some rubber materials may develop brittle spots or become brittle in general.
