HOUGHTO0SAFE 1055 Phosphate Ester is also known as tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate, tri-2-ethylhexylphosphate, and octylphenol phosphate. This chemical is commonly used as an additive in lubricants and fuel, as well as a flame retardant for plastics and rubber. When rubber is exposed to HOUGHTO0SAFE 1055 Phosphate Ester, it can cause swelling and softening of the material. Additionally, prolonged exposure can cause the rubber to become brittle and crack, as well as discolored and lose its elasticity. In extreme cases, the rubber can become chemically degraded and break down, leading to accelerated wear and tear.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
