Halowax Oil is an industrial lubricant also known as White Mineral Oil or Paraffin Oil. It is used in a variety of industrial processes, such as for lubrication and as a coolant in electrical transformers.
When rubber is exposed to Halowax Oil, it can cause softening, swelling and embrittlement of the rubber material. This can lead to cracking, deformation, discoloration and eventual loss of mechanical strength of the rubber. In extreme cases, the rubber may become brittle and crack, leading to product failure and the potential release of hazardous chemicals.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
