FYRQUEL (also known as 2-butoxyethanol, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, or butyl cellosolve) is a chemical used in a variety of industries, such as paint production, chemical manufacturing, and agriculture. It is a solvent used in many organic and inorganic chemical processes, and is also used as a cleaning agent.
Common types of failures when rubber is exposed to FYRQUEL include swelling, softening, and cracking. The rubber can become brittle, leading to cracking and eventual failure of the application. In some cases, the rubber can become sticky, which can cause adhesion or blockage of the part. In addition, due to its low flash point, FYRQUEL can cause ignition or burning of the rubber, leading to further damage.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
