Furnace Gas, also known as Fuel Gas, is a mixture of combustible gases typically used as fuel in heating furnaces and industrial boilers. It is used in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, metals, and petrochemicals.
When exposed to Furnace Gas, rubber seals can suffer from swelling, softening, and embrittlement, leading to reduced sealing performance and eventual failure. To minimize the risk of failure, rubber seals should be checked and replaced more frequently when exposed to Furnace Gas. Additionally, the rubber seals should be designed with the appropriate material grade and chemical compatibility to ensure maximum performance and life.
Viton ® o-rings from Marco Rubber offer excellent compatibility with a range of chemicals, oils and resist high temperatures up to 400F. Viton ® is also known as FKM made of fluoroelastomer one of the most versatile and widely used sealing materials.
